we have upgraded our video editing computer windows 7 , cs5 (from cs3).  until recently, unable via firewire.  after reading several forums (here), got thing working (using legacy driver).  though, when communications director tries dump video camera cs5, freezes after 30 seconds.  works fine on old computer.  know going back tape seems silly, that's way tv news station wants it.  we've tried know of.  there setting somewhere i'm missing?  appreciate help.  camera pansonic ag-hvx200p.    regards, andy the premiere pro cs5 (5.0.2) update has fixes ieee 1394 (firewire) output. let know whether installing update fixes issue you. hi new ubuntu , linux appreciate straightforward advice please on install problem. pulled "recycled" pc son based on asus k8vse motherboard hd different machine. hd older ide drive have set master cd drive slave on secondary ide socket on motherboard. bios can see , seems fine side of things. when try boot install of 10.04 optical drive following happens.... - cd spins , couple of lines of text @ top of screen introducing linux instal - logos @ bottom of screen, suggesting instalation has commenced. - after 10 seconds flashing cursor in top left corner, cd stops spinning , thats it... freezes have tried ubuntu 9 cd - same problem time load of code running down screen before freezes flashing cursor. im pretty sure both cds fine since have used them on old laptop - no problemo similar threads suggest there may issue of cards on board??? graphics cards?? sorry if has been posted. appreciate ideas / pointers next please. have pretty

hey all, have been having problems ftp in linux time , i'm going try , fix this. issue first raised head in last lts believe , has been here ever since, , apparent in backtrack isn't distro specific seems. apparent on other computers possibly not driver fault. mess around openwrt allot on router means frequent re-flashes bootloader's ftp server , have verified not router ftp transactions work flawlessly on xp. issue when try , transfer file router stops on first hash mark when in debug hash mode, , way send entire file reboot machine , try again straight away without connecting anything. sudo ifconfig eth0 down , doesn't solve it, apparently needs powered down. reading, sleep time edit: have tried ifdown --force eth0 , ifup again no avail. have tried /etc/init.d/./networking force-restart , nada. this forum moves fast, know of can try or has experienced this?
