Thread: no network connection

hi guys!
trying setup wired connection in ubuntu machine 8.04. not able connect internet, internet status icon in status bar disabled irrespective of whether connect cable or not.

please me!!!

'x' number according ip address, netmask, , gateway...typically want ip static...especially when down road may want ssh computer work or something...you don't want have ip changes, dhcp does...
