i relatively new linux, , dual booting ubuntu 10.4 (lucid lnyx), , love it, wireless won't work , wired connection not option. have tried using wireless usb adapter class n, didin't work tried other wireless adapter dell wireless 1450 wireless usb adapter.
windows not option.

if can connect wired connection, run terminal:

sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree

if have no inet access computer, can download deb file on box , use flash drive or cd transfer , run on machine.
