cPanel password protection problem after moving site - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i'm not sure if installation should post this, it's close i've got.

i migrated 1.0 site 1.5.14 on own hosting account (server#1). prevent being indexed while worked on it, password protected folder through cpanel. once new site completed, downloaded migration, , uploaded onto client's hosting account (server#2).

realizing had forgotten remove password protection before uploaded, removed code .htaccess file.

when go front end of (new, moved) website, works fine. when go backend, can login. when administrator menu/layout, password prompt comes (10 times) , once click "cancel" can in , work on site.

if remove password protection on server#1, password prompt disappears on server#2. if re-apply password protection on server#1, password prompt re-appears on server#2.

i have tried removing password protection, downloading new .htaccess file, , uploading it, appears calling server#1 , can't figure out is.

i did go through configuration.php , changed paths server#2 , checked in global configuration, , fine. (and, front end works fine.)

so question - else should find call server#1? or, need remove password protection, re-download, , re-upload? thoughts?

check live site value in configuration file , path tmp , logs also
