this error says before start dating operating system

" not download repository indexes

repository may no longer available or not contacted because of network problems. if available older version of failed index used. otherwise repository ignored. check network connection , ensure repository address in preferences correct."

diagnose problem

this sounds connection problem me.

try running, in terminal (applications>addessories>terminal);

code:

sudo apt-get update

have terminal on full screen , watch. if downloads anything, not complete, hit arrow key. bring last command. hit enter again. if not complete then, post terminal out put here.
