Thread: Upgraded to 9.10, cursor is stuck on screen

hello,

using ubuntu 9.04 , upgraded 9.10 on dell inspiron 1545 series.

once upgrade complete , system re-started, mouse pointer stuck in middle of screen. pop-up appears "incomplete language support" error. unable move mouse pointer click buttons. none of keys on keyboard responsive.

shut down machine, press power button. pop-up comes options shut-down, restart, suspend, cancel. however, @ point arrow keys responsive, click cancel. now, mouse pointer stuck again. hence shut down machine.


kept shutting down, restarting, unplugging peripherals, etc, , nothing working.

@ wits end, please advise.
