Thread: Generating intermediate files with kbuild

i'm doing development , require intermediate .i files. files used generated after preprocessor ran, gcc typically uses internal preprocessor i'm having issues generating them.

i'm working gcc 3.4 , ubuntu 8.04 makefile.

tried added --save-temps flag makeflags, , added -save-temps hostcc, gcc --save-temps run on every invocation. worked (.i , .s files generated) files in first level of directory hierarchy. example none generated c files in net/core.

ideas appreciated. thanks.

the -e flag of gcc generate .i files. can add cflags.
