i have downloaded , freshly installed 2 joomla 1.5.14 sites on local apache2 server, serves 4 other sites locally development purposes. no extensions or content has been added except section, category, , article.
the problem is: i cannot image upload button operate. brings options browse local files, select image , hit "upload" following error:
* warning: failed move file!
* error. unable upload file.
i not have flash media uploader enabled. have tried no success. file permissions correct , in case, have increased permissions on images , subdirectories no success. have uninstalled adobe flash 10 know causes problems media uploaders, hasn't helped either.
just fun, should tell have same issue 2 brand new versions of wordpress 2.8.5, , 1 old wordpress site has upgraded new version. mention because old site live on bluehost , others on server, all, including 2 joomla sites have same issue media uploaders.
i have tried using different computer different operating system , have tried using firefox ie 8. considering happenning on 2 servers, 1 live , 1 local, , it's tested on 2 operating systems, , 2 browsers, can't think problem outside of local here.
