Backing up all imported images?
i watched lr tutorials @ kelby training matt kloskowsky. he suggests go ahead , let lr create backup of files you import them, cull bad ones , keep ones in lr catalog. mentions not worrying deleting many in catalog because still have of them in backup directories. guess seems okay if people shoot few images, seems me backup drive monsterous in size if kept every photo you took in , again if drive gets backed up.
normally, only keep 10% 20% of shots take, , keep them backed (twice). that's bad enough!
any thoughts on matt's advice?

it's tough call.
i don't on import, run scheduled backup @ 8pm each day. don't have deletions synced though, backup drive fuller main photo drive.
i debate running monthly syncs deletions on. when i'm sure nothing has been accidentally deleted. think absolutely fine need. other side of coin depends on shoot. think of shots monica lewensky hugging clinton, or john kerry/jane fonda, old throwaway photos worth lot of money...
i don't delete as you.. it's time thing, because i'm happy not see crap stuff produce again!
it's funny, because when shooting mf film week, far more deliberate , restrained in shooting, had higher keeper rate digital, shot more because can.
