Thread: Recovering Ubuntu after Windows installation

hello

have reinstalled win xp , cannot run ubuntu.
found few (1,2,3) pages grub list.
first tried number 2 & 3 (very short), did not work @ all.
when trying fix using instructions help.ubuntu.com have 1 error.

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ grub-install -v grub-install (gnu grub 1.97~beta4)

i pretty sure have grub2 (yes, have grub.cfg file in boot/grub);
