Thread: problems after gparted crashed

hi guys.
pretty new forum (and ubuntu/linux in general) , not sure if right category.

few days ago wanted resize partition. tried gparted. sadly, during process crashed , cannot boot partition.
got second ubunto installed on second partition of hdd,
when try "check" said partition in gparted following message:

gparted 0.5.1
libparted 2.2
check , repair file system (ntfs) on /dev/sdb1 00:00:00 ( error ) calibrate /dev/sdb1 00:00:00 ( success ) path: /dev/sdb1
start: 63
end: 775519824
size: 775519762 (369.80 gib)
check file system on /dev/sdb1 errors , (if possible) fix them 00:00:00 ( error ) ntfsresize -p -i -f -v /dev/sdb1 ntfsresize v2.0.0 (libntfs 10:0:0)
$mft has invalid magic.
ntfs_mft_load(): failed.
failed load $mft: input/output error.
failed startup volume: input/output error.
error(5): opening '/dev/sdb1' ntfs failed: input/output error
ntfs inconsistent. run chkdsk /f on windows reboot twice!
usage of /f parameter important! no modification was
, made ntfs software until gets repaired.

tried working ntfsfix after run "sudo ntfsfix /dev/sdb1" following message.

mounting volume... $mft has invalid magic.
ntfs_mft_load(): failed.
failed load $mft: input/output error.
failed startup volume: input/output error.
failed
attempting correct errors... $mft has invalid magic.
ntfs_mft_load(): failed.
failed load $mft: input/output error.

failed startup volume: input/output error.
volume corrupt. should run chkdsk.

grateful suggestions.

as says need run chkdsk windows repair cd.

run chkdsk several times, until no more errors detected.
vista/7 chkdsk
chkdsk c: /f /r
/f : fixes errors on disk.
/r : locates bad sectors , recovers readable information.

if microsoft's checkdisk (chkdsk) failed repair mft, run testdisk, rebuild boot sector
