Thread: Prevent Windows from being detected by GRUB

i've got 2 hdds. ubuntu 10.04 installed on first , windows on second. windows on small partition special cases. therefore don't want windows included in grub whenever kernel updated or whenever run update-grub. if want start windows, able via menu bios.

possible permanently exclude windows grub or disable grub's autosearching other operating systems?

in advance!

yes possible

either add /etc/default/grub

grub_disable_os_prober=true

or run
code:
sudo chmod a-x /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober
stop os-prober.

after either run
code:
sudo update-grub
