Thread: Help configure my monitor

my monitor hasn't been detected x when installed ubuntu 10.04 today.
native resolution of 22" asus vw223b 1680x1050, it's not offered in either change resolution app, or xrandr

xorg.conf vague:
code:
section "screen" identifier "default screen" defaultdepth 24 endsection section "module" load "glx" endsection section "device" identifier "default device" driver "fglrx" endsection
i've been through tutorials , forum posts it's quite confusing have working...
cheers in advance

sooo new symptom...
took photo cos can't screenshot booting screens, xd

monitor screwed somehow, when update ati drivers in windows, next reboot whole screen stretched (it pans when near mouse edge of screens , set 1600x1200, monitor doesn't support). have go ati control panel, disable edid, , force set 1680x1050

question here is... easy fix in ubuntu? can 'flash' monitor's edid? enough grounds take monitor store bought from?

please reply if think answer couldn't help, might...

edit: sorry size, thought forum auto-smalled pics.
