Thread: Ubuntu vs Windows 7

i started using ubuntu since version 6 (dapper drake), , experienced lot on it, had issues video card, wireless card etc... bad things ubuntu didn't support cards etc, working if tweak. after lost hair trying machine work ubuntu happy because had never experienced such great os, when installed compiz (omg)... use play games such cod etc.. , not thinking when available ubuntu, many other people had lost hope... when wanted play games had switch windows again (which xp), after long stopped using ubuntu use more windows, installed ubuntu v7, 8, 9... , played little bit, , found can have in ubuntu (if not everything)... okay had buy new computer while ago, came windows 7, , pissed thinking come vista that's is... after while no more interested in playing "heavy games" anymore, that's when decided comeback ubuntu, , 1 thing ask myself ( why didn't before? ) it's you're saying, 'oh thanks, i'm home again' have many more options on ubuntu, , gaming? don't care anymore, grow older don't wanna waste time playing... yeah that's little bit have experienced, ubuntu more secure, has lot of more options, many free softwares can download right synaptic... still have windows 7 installed in partition, hey, don't think i'm going anymore, wanna able make part , use freely ubuntu...


using latest version 10.04 lts - lucid lynx... , great work guys accomplishing, it's more reliable, easier use, greater support , same great design!

try using ubuntu exclusively year or two, maybe play different flavors (like xubuntu , kubuntu), maybe different linux distro. try go windows ...

Gavik Photoslide GK2: Not able to upload photos - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

my first slide show works. i upgraded joomla 1.5.14. created new slide show, no images shown. i checked firebug , found images should go http://mywebsite.com/components/com_gk2 ... es/thumbm/ directory. however images go /components/com_gk2_photoslide/images/ directory. catalog permission says followings. 1. images/ unwritable 2 images/thumbm/ unwritable 3 images/thumbs/ unwritable 4 configuration/ unwritable 5 configuration/plugins/ unwritable 6 configuration/extensions/ unwritable i checked chomd ftp , 755. could tell me how fix please? thanks in advance. you'll have better luck on developers website, bug component , there 2 or 3 different reasons. seem remember 1 thing make sure php extension enabled on server. fixed problem hacking php files months ago have assumed had fixed bug. dm Board index Joomla! hej, problemet jeg har installeret phoca guestbook og det virker næsten. hvergang en registreret bruger har skrevet gæstebogen og trykker på send, så bliver brugeren logget af. så skal man logge på igen og kan konstatere @ indlægget er sendt og står pænt gæstebogen. hvordan forhindrer jeg joomla! og phoca guestbook @ smide brugeren af? lidt mere om opsætningen for @ skrive gæstebogen, så skal brugeren være registreret. derfor har jeg lavet et menupunkt, som kun kommer frem, når brugeren er registreret. og når man logger ind så åbner joomla! gæstebog-siden. jeg har indstillet gæstebog-siden til @ være registrerede brugere og menupunktet er sat op til de samme brugere. jeg håber @ nogle kan hjæpe. -- jan rou hej igen, og lige en detalje mere, der kan have betydning: .htaccess er aktiveret. -- jan rou Board index Joomla!
